Christmas Tour Description
Valletta
Malta’s capital city is studded with historical places, museums, churches, gardens, cafés, restaurants, and shops. The city is shining in its finest example of the Baroque style and beautiful Christmas decorations. / 2 hours free time/
Mdina
You will then visit Mdina which is built on a plateau in the centre of the island. Once Mdina was the capital of Malta until the modern city of Valletta was built in 1565, it has many names including Melita (Roman occupation), Medina (Arabic occupation), Citta’ Nobile (Knights of St. John) and Citta’ Vecchia. Today is also referred as the Silent City since it inspires tranquillity at any time of the day or night. / 1 hour free time /
Dingli Cliffs
This Christmas tour will show you and Dingli Cliffs, located less than a kilometre to the southwest of the village of Dingli. The cliffs are 253 meters above the sea level and the highest point in Malta, offering a great view of the sea and Filfla Natural Reserve island. An isolated chapel makes for a charming landmark. / 30 min free time /
Mosta
Your final stop will be Mosta where you will see the parish church in the centre of the city built in the 18th century. Mosta Rotunda has the third-largest unsupported dome in the world and displays a replica of the World War II bombshell that famously crashed through the dome but did not detonate upon impact, thus sparing the lives of some 300 people. / 10 min free time/
Our Tips
In Valletta, we suggest you visiting the Upper Barracca Gardens for breathtaking views of the Grand Harbour and St. John’s Co-Cathedral.
